Raffles:
“Private” raffles, using unmarked tickets, may be sold only within the immediate team environment and all profits remain within the team funds.
“Public” raffles sold outside the immediate team environment MUST use official Club raffle tickets and fall within the terms of the Club (Dept Justice) Permit. Public raffles require prior written approval of the President together with a full reconciliation.
Teams are entitled to sell raffle tickets at our home grounds during the course of their own match or during another match, with prior approval of The President who can control the amount of raffles being conducted at the Club.
Use of Club House: The Management Committee encourages teams to propose and manage Club related social and fundraising “activities” utilizing the Club Amenities building and communications network. The proposal should include appropriate dates, management details and mutual club / team financial benefit.
Team coaches have keys to access the BBQ and are requested to make sure that all rubbish is in the wheelie bins, BBQ be cleaned.
Wheelie bins are then to be emptied into industrial bins located in the car park.
Alcohol is not permitted to be brought to these functions under any circumstances.
FIELD SET UP AND BREAK DOWN
The team scheduled to play first on any particular field is required prior to that game to “set up” the field equipment, including rubbish bins and the last team to play on that field that day is required to return all the field equipment to the store room. The field surrounds should be left clean, including boot tape, rubbish tipped into the industrial bin and wheelie bins returned.
CANTEEN
The canteen is wholly owned by the club and managed by persons reporting to the Management Committee. As well as providing a facility for players, members and patrons, it is a principal revenue earner for the club and requires constant support. Team managers must roster two parents for canteen duty for one hour prior to their home matches and to support the Canteen at other times when required. $50.00 Team Fine will apply if two parents are not in attendance one hour prior to your game. All Canteen workers are asked to abide by the directions of the Convenor whilst in the Canteen and ensure that children under the age of 15 are not permitted to enter the food preparation and serving area. Extra volunteers at peak times will always be welcomed.
ALCOHOL
No member or patron is entitled to take alcohol to any Brisbane Junior Rugby League Ground or Dressing Room.
Any alcohol sold at grounds must be consumed within the designated areas and not taken to the sidelines of the playing field. Referees are required to stop any match where this rule is infringed. These people are to be moved to a licensed area of the club. If they refuse to move to the area, Police must be called. Should our club not adhere to these rules, SEDJ will enforce - all home games will be removed for up to one month at the Leagues discretion.
Club membership must be established at the Bar by all patrons and non members duly signed in.
Please note there is a total ban on all glass and bottles from our complex as per direction of the SOUTH PINE SPORTING ASSOCIATION.
PLAYING FIELD ACCESS
During the course of a match, the only persons allowed inside the fence of the playing field are the players, referee, touch judges, strappers, sand & ball boys and Duty Officials. The strapper should remain seated at the half way line and may access the players on the field at the discretion of the referee. If the strapper requires further medical assistance, he /she should raise one arm to indicate to the referee who will allow the Sports Medicine Official to enter the field. AT NO TIME SHOULD PARENTS OR OTHERS ENTER THE FIELD WITHOUT THE EXPRESS PERMISSION OF THE DUTY OFFICIAL.
Breaches of this policy will be in the first instance dealt with accordingly by the Club Committee.
TEAM & PLAYER GRADINGS
Principles:
Our club recognizes the underlying principle of progression of competiveness with increasing age together with the need to balance the opportunities for players to achieve their maximum potential and enjoy a standard of football suitable to their capacity. We also acknowledge that the ultimate performance objective is to win an “A” Grade competition and that skills and performance are more likely to improve when challenged in a higher grade.
Senior teams i.e. under 20 and above are bound by the same policies of the Albany Creek Crushers Junior Rugby League Football Club Inc.
Team Grading:
The SEDJ grades teams in under 7 to 10 for match purposes only, there are no formal grading of teams or players and any competition points or Premierships. N1 DOES NOT MEAN A BETTER STANDARD OF COMPETITION THAN N5.
Under 11 teams are graded on the basis of their performance as under 10’s. From under 11 upwards, based upon the advice of the Football Sub-Committee, the Club will submit recommended grades for each team. However the SEDJ make the final decisions and we will abide by the decision of the SEDJ grading committee.
Player Grading:
Where more than one team exists within an age group, the numbers of players must be reasonably balanced between the teams, taking into consideration the grading of the teams. Any trial matches and the first three fixture matches may be used to help grade players. In under 7’s we will try to keep 6 year olds together so they go up together in future years. Under 7 and under 8 players will be distributed amongst teams, so as to reasonably balance the playing performance of respective teams and account for the social and administrative benefit of the players and parents.
Under 9 and 10 players will be distributed amongst teams, so as to reasonably balance the playing performance of respective teams.
Under 11 to under 18 players will be graded by selection based upon their performance, training, attitude and commitment to their football, their team and the club.
Grading selections will be made by a small panel of selectors, nominated (and published) by the football sub committee.
The Club must nominate 14 players in each age group in the highest level team, they are deemed graded to that higher grade. All other players may freely move between grades and still return to the lower grade at any time. There is no restriction on number of games they play in each grade.
The club has introduced a policy of rotating players elegible, between grades to improve performance and standard of individual players
Where there is a perceived surplus of players seeking selection for the one team, the selection panel will select the appropriate number of players for that team and the Club will endeavour to find acceptable alternatives for the balance.
FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
The Management Committee appoints a “Football Sub-Committee”, which is responsible for operational football matters including; appointment of coaches, grading of teams and players, selection of player awards and player development, qualifications and development of coaches. The “Football Sub-Committee”, and appointed team officials are responsible to the Management Committee.
We are an affiliate of the Northern Broncos junior development programme who continually run clinics aimed at developing the junior players in our club and in higher age groups identifying the more talented players for incorporation into their senior club programmes.
REPRESENTATIVE HONOURS
Any Player chosen for the QRL, SEDJ and Metropolitan Schoolboys representative teams must be made aware that there are costs for the individual players involved. Whilst the Club would like to assist with these expenses, each case will be considered by the Committee and recompense is totally dependant on the financial situation of the Club, driven by the fact we are a non profit organisation with no financial support gained from a licensed Club or income generated from poker machines.
PLAYING IN A DIFFERENT AGE GROUP
Under special circumstances, the SEDJ Registrar may approve a player playing in an age group one year older, except that Under 12 players require special approval to play Under 13. Approval may be given to play continuously in the older age group, but the player may not revert to their own age group unless on every occasion, they have met their obligations and played for their own age group. Players are not required to have played a certain number of games in the older age group in order to have qualified to play in finals.
Strong club policy encourages appropriate players supporting older teams when required, but dictates that younger players may only play in an older age group when:
- the older team is short of players and no older player will be disadvantaged
- the coach or manager of the older team must first approach the coach of the younger team
- the player must demonstrate enthusiasm to play in the older team
- the player’s parents must approve
- the receiving coach must be satisfied the player is competent to play safely
- the sending coach must agree that his team will not be disadvantaged
- the sending coach must reasonably extend the same opportunity to other players he thinks are suitable.
- the sending manager must reasonably make available the necessary registrations and I.D.’s and
- the receiving manager must ensure they are reasonably returned.

IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR CONTINUITY OF SERVICE, THE CLUB WILL PRESENT A “100 GAME JACKET” TO ANY JUNIOR PLAYER WHO PLAYS IN ONE HUNDRED FIXTURE AND FINALS GAMES FOR THE CLUB.WITHIN THEIR OWN AGE GROUP OR HIGHER AGE GROUP.

Under 7 to 9 players receive club funded pennants. Trophy awards are determined by performance, on the field, at training, attitude towards others around the club and within the team. They are nominated by the selection panel for that grade, including the Coach, and must be approved by the management committee.
PLAYER REGISTRATIONS
No player is entitled to take the field in fixture matches unless the team manager is able to produce at the field, the player’s necessary SEDJ identity card. Penalty for playing an unregistered player $100.00 and loss of competition points.
ADVERTISING / SPONSORSHIP
All Advertising and Sponsorship must be coordinated and approved through the one Committee person nominated by the Management Committee, who this year will be, the President – Brad Stranks.
