COVID 19 UPDATE

Hey Crushers - well, what a crazy few months it's been since the season was put on hold due to the Corona Virus (COVID 19).

Firstly, we've been busy upgrading the facilities during the COVID lockdown with improvements to the change rooms, bar roof installed, toilet upgrades, increased on-field seating and new canteen equipment. I hope you agree that it looks fantastic. We have also been busy ensuring the ongoing financial wellbeing of the Club, securing grants totalling approximately $50,000. With many clubs expecting to experience financial hardship due to the loss of canteen and bar income during the lockdown period, these funds will be vitally important to ensuring that we return to play, not only this year, but next year as well.

Secondly, wwith restrictions recenlty lifted (1 June 2020), we have been able to return to training, ensuring the safety of all of our members as a priority.  There are some changes to our training schedule and sanitisation requirements that, as a club we need to adhere to until further restrictions are eased.  We have developed a COVID Safe Plan for Crushers which was emailed to you all by our President on 7 June 2020.

With limits on venue capacity at 100, the advice at this stage is to only accommodate one training session per week for an age group. It's extremely important we continue to adhere to the COVID Safe Plan and the QRL Return to Play Handbook.  We appreciate you helping us to keep to these numbers by spectators/parents staying in your car or around the clubhouse area (some exceptions may be able to be made for the junior grades, but likely one parent maximum for example U6-U9 players, dependent on numbers present), sanitising of fotty equipment, yourselves and a quick departure after training. We also encourage all of our members to download the COVID Safe App, again for the safety of all attending our venue.

If your child is unwell please DO NOT send them to training and remember, we are all in this toeghter so we need to makre sure that Health, safety and wellbing is a priroity in getting a successful season back up and running.

In the meantime, we love hearing the excitement of the kids catching up with some friends they haven't seen in a while, but also learning the skills of the game we love.

COACHING ACCREDITATION (COVID 19 UPDATE)

Due to the unique circumstances we’re all currently experiencing, we have made some amendments to the accreditation process for season 2020.

Community Coach Courses (QLD, VIC, SA, NT & WA):

  • Completion of the Community Coach online module in the relevant age group permits an individual to start coaching in both training and games. The online only accreditation expiry date of June 30th has been extended to October 31st. Full accreditation will not be achieved until a coach has also completed the Face to Face Workshop component of the relevant course at which point the 3 year accreditation period will be activated. The workshop component must be completed no later than four (4) weeks prior to the completion of the teams regular season competition. Please note: The course fee will be activated on registration into the online modules.Click here to access the 2020 Community Coach online modules

International and Modified Games Coach (NSW):

  • Completion of the online modules will permit an individual to start coaching in both training and games. To simplify the process coaches can register into the online modules directly. Click here to access the online modules
  • Full accreditation will not be achieved until a coach has also completed the Face to Face Workshop component of the relevant course at which point the 3 year accreditation period will be activated. The workshop component must be completed no later than four (4) weeks prior to the completion of the teams regular season competition.

Sports Trainer Courses:

  • To support a smooth resumption of sport, SMA has extended all Sports Trainer Accreditations that were due to expire from 19th March 2020 to 19th September 2020 for a further six months. The six-month period applies from the date of the person’s current expiry date. To view the full statement click HERE
  • There may be an opportunity for Sports Trainer’s whose accreditation expired during February and early March to have an extension applied to their qualification, this will be treated on a case by case basis by emailing SMA at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Due to the current restrictions in place a plan for new course delivery is currently being discussed with SMA and will be communicated when finalised.

In the coming weeks, changes to accreditation expiry dates will be reflected on participants records in both the Learning Centre and MySideline

If you have further enquiries, please go to support.playrugbyleague.com for assistance.
