COVID 19 UPDATEHey Crushers - well, what a crazy few months it's been since the season was put on hold due to the Corona Virus (COVID 19). Firstly, we've been busy upgrading the facilities during the COVID lockdown with improvements to the change rooms, bar roof installed, toilet upgrades, increased on-field seating and new canteen equipment. I hope you agree that it looks fantastic. We have also been busy ensuring the ongoing financial wellbeing of the Club, securing grants totalling approximately $50,000. With many clubs expecting to experience financial hardship due to the loss of canteen and bar income during the lockdown period, these funds will be vitally important to ensuring that we return to play, not only this year, but next year as well. Secondly, wwith restrictions recenlty lifted (1 June 2020), we have been able to return to training, ensuring the safety of all of our members as a priority. There are some changes to our training schedule and sanitisation requirements that, as a club we need to adhere to until further restrictions are eased. We have developed a COVID Safe Plan for Crushers which was emailed to you all by our President on 7 June 2020. With limits on venue capacity at 100, the advice at this stage is to only accommodate one training session per week for an age group. It's extremely important we continue to adhere to the COVID Safe Plan and the QRL Return to Play Handbook. We appreciate you helping us to keep to these numbers by spectators/parents staying in your car or around the clubhouse area (some exceptions may be able to be made for the junior grades, but likely one parent maximum for example U6-U9 players, dependent on numbers present), sanitising of fotty equipment, yourselves and a quick departure after training. We also encourage all of our members to download the COVID Safe App, again for the safety of all attending our venue. If your child is unwell please DO NOT send them to training and remember, we are all in this toeghter so we need to makre sure that Health, safety and wellbing is a priroity in getting a successful season back up and running. In the meantime, we love hearing the excitement of the kids catching up with some friends they haven't seen in a while, but also learning the skills of the game we love. |
